Honesty Time

Okay,

the dinner party isn't until September 10th,

which might be, I think, 

my anniversary, (I'll explain some other time.)

and I'll be cooking up a storm for mon amies.

But don't worry about Hubby,

because the reason I'm so panicked 

about getting everything planned is that 

it had to be figured out before I leave.

 Yep, Hubby and I are on our way 

out of the heat for a short

getaway, to the mountains,

compliments of the greatest kids on earth.

Don't worry though,

I'll be drawing a winner before I leave.

And you still have time to enter.

I won't close it until midnight Arizona time.

Which is the same as Pacific time, right now

but will change to Mountain time soon

which is soooooo very confusing

for all of you. :-)

The Wildcat

This is a photo of my father

with his most precious car.

It was his favorite and he fondly showed this picture

to all.

This is a photo I took 

of that photo.

When I take pics I have my camera set so that, upon

downloading, the photos are deleted automatically.

I know my father is still with me

because this photo,

and only this one,

will not delete.

No matter what I do.

It is still on the camera.

And when I page through new pics

it is always there

and 

someone always comments

how they like the car.

I've been lurking over at Jenny Matlock's Saturday Centus
and just had to participate this week. 

If I die young,

scary movies
alone.

whispered
in your ear

and
will turn to catch

who calls.

You will breath deeply

whenever you smell
vanilla

and it will feel
like a hug.

And the taste
of chocolate chip cookies

will remind you
of the softness of my apron

and
my love.

and when you see butterflies

dancing on unseen breezes,

you will know it's me
and think
how much more

French Book Club Dinner

With my book club we are reading:

Lunch in Paris: A Love Story, with Recipes

by Elizabeth Bard

So one of the girls suggested we get together

for dinner instead of just meeting.

Sounded like a great idea to me.

 

Then I volunteered to cook.

Which, between you and me

and no one else - example Hubby,

who currently cooks most meals and every day,

I like to cook

occasionally.

And French!, well count me in.

 

SOOOO I'm cooking "le dîner" (dinner) for

six!

l'entrée - appetizers

la soupe - soup

le plat principal - main course

 le fromage - cheese

 la salade - salad

le dessert - DESSERT!!!!

ALL

pas la farine = WITH NO FLOUR!

 Yes, one of mon amies eats gluten free.

So this is where your help is desperately needed.

I'm planning: almond crusted pork loin for the main meat 

and I will have a field salad with fresh herbs and french vinaigrette.

Aside from that,

I'm lost . . .

So what is a girl to do but turn to her besties, right?

Please,
